Nourish your team

Last week I was delighted (honoured actually!) to deliver my Powerful Conversations keynote at the OzHarvest Leaderfest: their annual leader summit.

Ronni Kahn AO, Ozharvest CEO, inspired me in her book A Repurposed Life. After reading it I felt compelled to get involved with OzHarvest and I am really enjoying working with them.

The session I ran for them was about nourishing team trust using powerful leader conversations. It filled me up knowing that I was helping a business that holds "Nourishing our country" at its core. The leaders were highly engaged.

Nourishing your team

How are you nourishing your team? Are they getting the insights, support and sunlight from you that they need to become high performing? It's our role as leaders to ensure we are having trusting conversations that help team members connect with their role and the business.

Having the right conversations is crucial to ensuring we are giving our teams the nutrients they require to succeed. If we don't have powerful conversations, then we fail and the team can't flourish. Employees get nourishment when we answer four key questions for them:

  • What is the vision?

  • What is my role?

  • How do I contribute?

  • How will my performance be measured?

Nourish yourself

We can't help others if we aren't at our best. So remember to put time aside to ensure you get nourished too. This year I am working with lots of leaders and businesses who are committed to making change, progress and lifting their results. It is really fulfilling work helping them build trust and get better results.
