HOW TO EAT YOUR ELEPHANT

This is a chance for you to take BIG steps forward

We all have those big goals or changes we want to make. But, we often avoid action or put them aside. We wait for the right time. We keep resisting. We convince ourselves that next Monday, next month, next year it will be more convenient or more achievable.

And what happens? We push it back again.

And again.

No more...It’s time.

Resisting progress is wasting your time, life, opportunity…
My wife and I wanted to leave the city for a really long time. We planned our life near the beach down the coast for SO long. At lot of talk and thought. Very little action.

We kept waiting for the right time. Ten years later there was not a right time. We bit the bullet, sold up and made the change and OMG we love rural/coastal life. Our only regret was that we didn’t do it sooner.

We told ourselves so many stories that were barriers to success. What if the food is crap? What if we fail? What if we don’t make friends? And most importantly what if the coffee sucks?

The same goes for YOUR goals, growth and leadership. You can keep putting progress off forever. But here is the thing...The goal or change you want to make ALWAYS feels harder in your mind than in reality. It really does.

ASK YOURSELF:
What would happen if you pulled the Band-Aid off and started to take action on your goal today?
I tell you what...you would be one step closer instantly just by committing to step forward. Calling time on your resistance, is the first step to progress. Consider these....

1. What is the goal you keep putting off?
2. What is the challenge you are avoiding?
3. What stories do you need to move beyond?

It's time to eat your elephant!
Often the first step on a significant goal is the hardest one to make. Because focusing on the end result feels so far away. It’s like trying to eat an elephant. And we all know how to do that. Don’t we?
