Simplicity

Keep it simple. Move faster.

Life is complicated enough, dont you think? So lets keep things really simple.

If you have been to one of my events or worked with me, you know I like simplicity. In fact simplicity is one of my conditions for success.

BUT: Simpler is harder
The thing is simplicity is much harder than complexity. Why? Because from an early age we are made to believe that complicated things are more challenging, require greater expertise and worth more. But complexity slows us down. It detracts us from the main game. As experts we are hardired to add things, not simplify them.

Some of us get caught up in complexity. I know from experience it can make us paralysed or overwhelmed.

I want to make life simpler. I respect complexity but I prefer simplicity.

Themes for success in 2024
One way simplicity shows up is when I help my clients move from complexity to clarity. Take your professional, personal development or planning for example. It's hard enough to find the time to do this well. A simple framework helps us move faster and get stuff done.

Most of the managers, experts or professionals I help are trying to do one or all of these things....

IMPROVE something, so they can get better or do more of it.
Eg.Communication, collaboration, innovation.

REMOVE something, so they can stop or do less of it.
Eg. fear of public speaking, indecision, conflict.

SMOOTH something: so they can move easier or faster.
Eg. Be easier to deal with, build better ways to get stuff done.

I love this simple framing because every single one of us can relate to it.

I use this framework for all sorts of planning with my clients.
