Break free from "Employee Engagement Burden"

A better way to lift your scores

Each year we have the best intentions of lifting our teams engagement. But then for whatever reason it goes down our inbox and before you know it it's results time again.

The results come around for the next year and the same issues surface again. It feels exhausting. I call this the “engagement trap”. I know because I have been in this trap myself in large organisations. You get on with the work because that is what you are there for, but your scores hardly budge. I’ve seen it before.

I reckon your current engagement focus areas include something like communication, leadership, innovation, involvement, or development.

Despite effort and time spent on this in most businesses the same themes happen year after year. It's like rinse and repeat. And with employee engagement at around 20% unchanged in years don’t you think it’s time we took a new approach?

Burdened Managers
You might be feeling what I call “engagement burden”. Are you?

Unsupported: don't know where to start and can't get the support or tools you need
Confused: not sure what really makes the scores go up and how to do that
Time Poor: not enough time to do your work and engage effectively
Unsure: how to communicate in a way that gets the best out of the team
Focused on "real work": engagement plans feel like an optional extra
Untrained: no one has ever taught you how so you might feel a bit lost.

Get out of the trap
If you, like me feel it’s time for a new way, then come to my online event on 13 December.

The cookie cutter approach where the whole business focuses on a few themes isn't working. You need your own bespoke plan aligned to your teams needs and your strengths. You need a customised plan that helps get your work done and lift your scores.

This is an early opportunity to get ahead on your 2024 employee engagement actions.
It’s a 90-minute practical session. Part learning opportunity and some protected time to get the work done and build your plan, with my support and tools.

At this session you will identify your theme for the year, land on three priorities, lock in some actions and measures, get your rhythm of engagement sorted and close gaps in how you manage your team (eg great team meetings and involvement).

I am interested to know your current engagement priorities and if they are different to the trap I mentioned above. Id be surprised if they were.
